Rocking Seat Repair

Have you experienced excessive movement in the driver seat during vehicle acceleration and braking? I found two posts relating to this at One says he has fixed the problem; the other gives some information on the GM redesigned seat adjusters, including part numbers.

The writer took an old seat riser apart to locate the cause of the rocking and found that GM uses a rubbery plastic-type bushing in the seat adjusters that disintegrate over time. He has fixed several of these adjusters by disassembling the tracks and replacing the bushings with metal ones. He says it's a relatively simple fix but does take some time to build the correct size bushing.
