What is the QCCC Care and Compassion Program?
Some years ago, our former QCCC Membership Director, Paul Schmitt, established the QCCC Care and Compassion Program to provide a level of caring, sharing and emotional support to QCCC members (and sometimes families) going through serious events -- health issues, upcoming hospital stays, surgeries, recuperation, deaths, or other serious and critical events. Through the sharing of this information over time via Caring and Compassion Blasts, members have responded by sending thoughts and prayers, sending cards and well wishes, attending memorial services, providing assistance where requested, and appropriately supporting the affected members and/or families over time.
How does the process work?
• Members who wish to share illnesses, deaths, surgeries, hospital stays, serious event issues or needs, etc. with other members of the Club should send an email to the Care and Compassion Coordinator with information whey wish to provide.
• Contents of the email should stipulate if the information is just for the QCCC Board or for all members, or for just the Coordinator’s information.
• Feel free to follow up the email with a phone call to the Coordinator in cases of urgency.
• The Coordinator will finalize the writeup and submit for distribution.
• NOTE: No information received by the Care and Compassion Coordinator will be shared without the specific approval of the member/requestor. Privacy will be respected.
QCCC values your opinion and any feedback you might have regarding the Care and Compassion Program.
